The Clinic and Role:

About the Apollo Bay Medical Centre

The Apollo Bay Medical Centre is a fast paced rural Medical Centre, where in addition to consulting daily Practitioners have the opportunity to experience every aspect of the health service at Great Ocean Road Health: this includes GP clinic consulting, Community visits, Urgent care and Nursing home consults.

Nestled in the heart of Apollo Bay, our Medical Centre services a poulation of over 1,800 people from across our district. Apollo Bay has a thriving economy that includes a diverse range of tourism, agriculture, industry, education, and health industries. A popular holiday destination during the summer tourist season, the population can swell to 15,000. Situated just under three hours south-west of Melbourne, Apollo Bay is a stop on the Great Ocean Road, a driving route that winds along the coast, passing through the Great Otway National Park. 

The Apollo Bay Medical Centre is big enough to challenge you and small enough to make a real difference. 

Our principle supervisor Dr Terence Heng, has specific interests in urgent care medicine, musculoskeletal medicine and skin cancer. He has been awarded Supervisor of the Year by both EVGP and RACGP (Vic) in 2019 and 2020 and has an excellent track record of having his registrars pass the RACGP exams (1st attempt). He is an experienced RACGP examiner for OSCEs and writes for the AKT/KFP as well as sits on AHPRA Panels when called upon.

Dr Heng is always available for a friendly chat on the phone, an on-site visit.

We preference GPs who will stay with us for a year or more. Our health service will assist you with finding subsidised accommodation if desired.
